How can you throw an amazing toddler outdoor birthday party, even if you live in a small apartment or have a smaller house with a small backyard or no backyard at all?
Don’t let limited space stop you from creating a memorable celebration.
Here are three stress-free steps to setting up a toddler outdoor birthday party that will make your little one’s special day unforgettable.
If you have a family member or friend who will lend their space to you, backyard location is solved.
Then the next course of action would be to set up the backyard event using a really fun theme, yummy food, and fun decorations.
If a friend or family is not an option, find a nice park to have the party, just remember to keep this planning process simple and this will be a toddler outdoor birthday party your child will surely enjoy.
Step 1: Use A Theme
Toddlers typically will have a favorite something that they are into.
A storybook character, an animal, or a thing like a toy they will emulate, especially if they are learning about sounds.
For example, my two-year-old son is into cars. He makes the sounds of an engine when playing with his toy cars, or if we are in the car driving and he sees cars outside the window, he will make the sounds.
Pretty much if he sees a car or truck he will make that sound.
So when thinking of a theme, choose one that is easy to find at pretty much any store that has a party section in it or easily online that will not take long to receive in the mail.
This removes the potential stress of looking for hard-to-find items that are only found with specific suppliers.
If it is a pretty popular character, animal, or thing, you should be able to find it at any store.
Which will also make it expensive to purchase along with a variety of options to choose from.
Check out your local Dollar Tree which has a plethora of great party accessories to help you get started.
Bonus Tip: If you prefer online shopping as much as I do, skip the store and find all the items you need on their website. Some Dollar Tree stores do not carry all of the same items, whereas you can shop their online store and find all of the items the company carries. Plus free shipping to the store.
This will set the stage for everything about your next toddler outdoor birthday party, from the colors to the type of food you’ll have.
Step 2: Get Equipment
Think about the seating and activities that may require a rental.
You don’t have to buy everything these days; you can rent tables, chairs, serving pieces, and more, all from a party rental store.
Consider inquiring if you could use a couple of chairs and tables from your church.
My family and I have done this quite often and it’s free.
What type of entertainment will you have that will require a rental?
An inflatable bouncer is a great option to rent, and there is also the inflatable outside waterslide.
Bouncers are wonderful at entertaining toddlers for hours, it really doesn’t take much to get a child entertained.
Step 3: Get Decorations
With the same instruction about equipment, once you know the theme you can choose what type of decorations to use.
Remember that you’re outside so you really don’t need many decorations. Use furniture, tables, tablecloths, and serving pieces to help you choose the type of décor that you’ll have.
It shouldn’t be hard to find what you are looking for since the theme chosen is plentiful and easy to find at just about any store or online retailer.
Keep all these simple instructions in mind when planning the next toddler outdoor birthday party and you will be amazed at how stress-free the planning was.
Next time, let’s talk about grilling toddler-approved foods that are easy, yet still so yummy.
