How to host an awesome adult game night that will be anything but boring. Have a hilarious night of fun, laughter, and great games.
When I think about adults wanting to go out and have fun at a party, the popular 80’s song “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper, comes to mind. When was the last time you really had some fun?
Adults like to have fun and having a night filled with fun games and cocktails is a great way to let your imagination go wild and even get a little messy. Call the sitter for the kids and let’s get ready to have some fun!
Here is the ultimate guide of some the best party theme and game ideas you can have at your next adult game night.
Grown-ups like to have fun too. Having a party outdoors or indoors is one way to bring out the kid in yourself. When you have a party outdoors you can let your imagination go wild and even get a little messy. But don’t think your party will be limited if you decided to keep it indoors either.
You can’t have much of a party without food and there are many choices to choose from. Whatever theme that is chosen, base the food around that theme and you can never go wrong.
To keep it simple, make it self-serve so that each guest has the option to keep coming back for seconds without having to ask.
Nacho Bar
Who doesn’t love nachos? This is a really simple set up, all you need is one or two crockpots to hold the cheese sauce in. You can have one crockpot that holds the nacho cheese sauce and the other hold the chili sauce. In small bowls have the toppings like sour cream, jalapenos, olives, beans (black or pinto), diced tomatoes, and guacamole. If there are other toppings I have not included add those too. You can also add traditional salsa, or make this delicious black bean salsa from Amy at The Blond Cook.

Burger Bar
There is nothing like a good juicy burger from off the grill and your guest will appreciate this idea. For the meats include not only beef but also include ground turkey or ground chicken as an option. Make a spread of whatever toppings you can think of like grilled onions (add purple onion also), tomatoes, grilled pineapple, mushrooms if that’s your jam, bacon, pickles, peppers, and more. This option is definitely one that your guest will talk about the next day.

By, A Beautiful Mess has such a great outdoor game that is loads of fun. If you like building and crafting things, then you will love this DIY, plus this will definitely leave a lasting impression on your guests.
Sandwich Bar
Give your guests the option of making their own sandwiches. Use a long table and have at least four varieties of meat like turkey, ham, beef, and chicken. You can either buy them at a local deli and usually will come in a beautiful spread for you. Or you can make the spread yourself if you are snazzy like that. Also, have at least two to three different options for bread. Toppings could be a flavored ranch dressing, honey mustard or spicy, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, and a variety of cheeses.
BOARD GAME:
Game For Fame
PHYSICAL GAME:
Shake-That-Bootie
Popular with teenagers, but adults can have fun with this also. A quick search on Pinterest will show that there are plenty of adults who have a blast at this game. Show those old school dancing skills with this game.
Pizza Bar
If you are a pizza lover this option is really great. Lay out all the toppings for your guest to add to their pizza. Since these will be personal sized pizzas give them a choice of a variety of pita bread and naan bread. Toppings can include pepperoni, sausage, bacon, Canadian bacon, mushrooms, olives, roasted tomatoes, baby spinach, jalapeno peppers, and a variety of cheeses.
For the sauces, you can have the traditional tomato sauce, or also add bbq sauce as an option, pesto, bechamel sauce, which sounds fancy but is really simple to make. When each guest completed their pizza, slap them on the grill for about 5 to 7 minutes and good to go. With this option, you can cook about 4 to 6 pizzas at a time.

Just remember, as you make your plans, don’t get too tied up in being an adult. Of course, you want your guests to have fun, but you want to find some youth in the planning and execution without being too grown up about it.
