For instance, traditional decorating ideas include using wreaths for doors or entryways, but who says you can’t use it on the balcony.
Also get creative and funny while you’re at it. Having Santa Claus hanging off or climbing on the balcony is such a funny scene to look at and it’s creative.
Garlands can be placed along the entire railing of your balcony surface either hung vertically or horizontally.
Christmas lights and bulbs can be used by itself or with garlands, in outside plants, and of course on Christmas trees.
Because this is outside, be sure to choose bulbs that will be able to withstand the elements outside.
Candles create a festive look when displayed in windows if there are at least two sets of two or three windows shown from the balcony.
Candles are an attractive Christmas decorative item as they can light up this small space in a subdued but beautiful
manner.
This option the candle will be put on the inside of the window, but it will be an outside display. There are wonderful options to choose from electrical candles or battery-operated ones.
Just keep in mind if you do plan to go the electrical route consider this among the other number of decorations that will require electricity.

How To Hang Christmas Lights On Apartment Balcony
Using Christmas lights outdoors along the frame of your balcony and icicle shaped ones to decorate the roof lines of the balcony (if you have that option) adds just the right touch.
Using whites lights will give a nice uniform look but adding color to your balcony can really make the lighting display look more spectacular.
Christmas balcony decorating lights can also be wrapped along with garlands on the surface and the in-between railing to add a twinkling Christmas look.
Frequently asked questions about Christmas lights:
1. Do Christmas lights get hot?
Christmas lights obviously are safer than a traditional fire lit candle, however especially during this time of year all of that extra electricity can cause problems if not used correctly. Try using LED lights which do not get as hot as CFL, halogen, or incandescent lights which can get hot enough to burn or start a fire.
2. Can I use an indoor surge protector or power strip outside?
The answer is NO! These devices are exposed to moisture, bugs, probably trees, and whatever other outside elements that you haven’t accounted for. If you need an outlet outside, use the one that is already installed or use a power strip that is made for outdoors.
3. Are outdoor extension cords safe in rain?
Always always use the right cords for outdoor use. Never use an indoor extension cord for outdoor use. And if you have cords that you have used previously used before, check to make sure they are still safe to use and are not worn or damaged.
Also get an extension cord cover to help protect any potential electric shock or fire.
4. Are Christmas lights waterproof?
Don’t use indoor Christmas lights outdoors. There are several outdoor Christmas lights to choose from that are water-resistant or waterproof. Just make sure the tag or box has the UL mark which stands for Underwriter Lab. This means that these lights meet the national industry standards with the American National Standards. Any Christmas balcony decorating can be done on any budget no matter big or small. There is no right or wrong way when it comes to decorating, just make sure to always choose the right equipment and decorations that are suited for outdoors and make this holiday the best season.
