Keeping the bathroom safe for your toddler is a mother’s top priority, especially now that your child is more curious about their surroundings.
They want to touch, climb, pick up objects, or even put in their mouths items that could be potentially harmful to them.
The dirtiest part of your home could be the bathroom.
Face it this is the part of the home that carries the most dirt, germs, potential bacteria growth in the home.
This is the part of the home that we clean ourselves, from each morning routine of washing our face brushing out teeth and in turn spitting those germs down the sink.
Washing our bodies of all the dirt and grime of the day, so our bathrooms can carry a lot of germs. Gross right?
Just as we spend a lot of time in the kitchen, we also spend quite a bit of time in the bathroom and so if you have a toddler or toddlers it is important that this place is kept safe.
Safe from the icky germs and also safe from slips or falls that could potentially have your child in a late-night emergency room.
When it comes to keeping the bathroom safe for your toddler, in the tub slips and falls can be easily prevented with the right tools.
1. Grab Bar by Vive. If you have an independent toddler that get in and out of the tub by himself, consider the grab bar. This bar gives extra support while your child gets in and out of the tub giving them something secure to hold on too.
2. A padded bath spout that covers and also protects your toddler from the water tube. My son is very curious and he has bumped his head once on the bath spout and these accidents can easily happen. Bath time should be fun and safe, so this tool is very inexpensive and I highly recommend it.
3. Bath mats are, of course,e obvious and if you don’t have anything in your tub, this should be a THE item you have. There are so many mats to choose from that will match any theme or just go with a plain clear one.
Just make sure it is a non-slip, BP-free, and Phthalate-free, latex free, and mold and mildew resistant. Mats that are easy to clean are what I tend to stick with and machine washable is a plus.
Child safety locks are excellent for locking drawers, cabinets, and also the toilet seat.

5. Jessica Leona:
Corner cushion guards. If you have sharp corners in your bathroom these clear edge cushions will keep you worry free of any head or bodily injuries to your toddler.
6. Step stool so that your toddler can reach the sink or toilet if they are potty trained. This step stool accommodates for different ages and heights. It has a heavy duty plastic with rubberized bottom and step areas so the stool does not move when your toddler is using it.
7. Faucet extender helps those short arms and fingers reach the water as you are training them how to wash their hands and brush their teeth. These are so great at giving your toddler some independence at the sink. Just remember to remove every few weeks and throw it in the dishwasher for cleaning.
Keeping your bathroom safe of mold mildew and just all the icky that can be an issue also.
With your toddler’s safety in mind using nontoxic cleaners is the best and safest way to give you peace of mind the next time you are giving them a bath.
Hopefully, you find these items as a great start to keeping your bathroom safe for your toddler and if there are other safety ideas you have implemented for your family leave it in the comments below.
